    Only boots to preloader

    Hey all,
I modded a friends wii 18months ago and they have just contacted me saying OMG its stuffed! From memory I used the softmii mod on it which I think was cIOScorp. I used the Twilight hack and more than likely didnt have bootmii installed on boot2.

Anyway they told me that the game Western Heroes wouldn't load and after fiddling around they decided it would be good to format the system memory (haha)

Now it loads straight to preloader. Just need a point in the right direction as to what I should do to fix it. Do I install IOS60 then use NUS Downloader to grab the sysmenu again? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sysmenu= 3.2e (I think, it was a long time ago)
    Preloader v0.28
    IOS v30
    Sysmenu v290

    Thanks again.

So can you choose to load the System Menu from Preloader?

I have never used Preloader (only Priiloader), since it is very outdated. Sorry if I ask some questions that should be obvious.

I have just physically been given the wii in question only to find that my wiimote wont sync when in preloader. I now have to wait to get the wiimote off of them as I don't have a GC controller! GRRRR.

Thanks for replying! Can you briefly explain the options I have?

    1. If I can boot to sysmenu?
    2. If I cant boot to sysmenu?

    Thanks.

Ok, I have there wiimote. When I select System Menu it says "error autobooting systemmenu - ticket not found"

I'll go ahead and try the IOS60 & System download via NUS.

    Cheers.

EDIT: Tried to install the HBC again, installer loads but tells me there are no vunerable ios found.

    Suggestions?

Reinstalled IOS30 & then sysmenu 3.2 and I now have the sysmenu back but no HBC etc etc. Will follow the guide once again to mod. Is it worth updating to 4.1?

I have never seen revision numbers like that. They aren't official IOS's, I can tell you that. Perhaps that is an old version of cIOSCorp.
You might want to follow this guide. Before you do anything though, wait for a mod on here to say if it is a good or bad idea. I think that this will fix it, but I'm not sure, and I don't want you to try it on my opinion alone.

Edit: Lol, well since you just went ahead and did whatever, forget what I said.

Just follow Softmod ANY Wii now. Preloader should be gone.

Yep everything is gone. Not sure if cIOScorp has been removed though. I've just reinstalled HBC and bootmii as boot2 but bootmii doesnt load when I turn it on.

cIOSCrap (and yes, I know how I spelled it) will be removed when you follow Softmod ANY Wii. Don't skip any steps except for the optional DarkCrap install.

After that, you may want to update some of your IOS's with my guide. It will allow you to play the lastest games/channels.

Yes it is crap but back then I wasn't to know Thanks for the replies, it is nice to know someone is reading it. So should I just install bootmii as an IOS and load from HBC?

Install it as both. Even if you have something already, don't hesitate to reinstall it (unless it is DarkCorp, lol).
