Hello all, im new to wii hacking and i am having trouble backing up my nand with bootmii, i opened bootmii through the homebrew channel but it opens multi-mod-manager. I spent some time googling the problem but i had no luck, could someone please help :confused:

Remove the bootmii folder from you sd, then launch the hackmii installer using the HBC, select bootmii and choose "Prepare a SD card".

Will running the hackmii installer multiple times cause problems or brick?
I ask because I'm having the same issue where running bootmii opens MMM. A few months ago I ran Hackmii installer v0.8 using Mauifrog's softmod tutorial and made an original NAND backup. I've installed a few cIOS updates since then and would like to perform a second backup. I go to the HBC, press home button on Wiimote, and then MMM loads.
Do I perform the hackmii installer process Bliepo mentions in post #2 again? It seems unnecessary to me since I just want a current backup.
[Edit] Now that I think about it, is hackmii installer just writing files to the SD (ie no chance of brick regardless how many times installer is run)? And the files it writes are simply telling the Wii how to boot? sorry for stupid question.

OK, maybe I wasn't specific enough. Using Mauifrog tutorial I performed all steps for 4.3 - not just the backup. But I'm wondering if I removed a critical file from the SD card (since my backup) and that causes me to not be able to load bootmii.

No you misunderstand. Bootmii would not be loading MMM had you finished the guide. All you need to do is what was explained by biepo above.
Next time you are following a guide.....complete it.
Well, I thought you guys were just being A-holes and claiming that I didn't finish the tutorial. But yeah you were right.
When I originally softmodded my wii, instead of reformatting cards for every step, I was using 2 SD cards (same type). It was convenient at the time. Anyway, I must have gotten my cards mixed up because the card I thought I was done with, I buried in a desk drawer. I just pulled it out, and it has all the same files from the "AnyWii-AppPack" part of the tutorial. So I bet if I swap cards all will be well.
So sorry to piss you guys off. I know you hate it when people don't finish tutorials.
How do you get the hackmii installer back on the HBC? I have same issue as above, but there's no way to get the hackmii installer to the hbc from what i can figure....Quote:
