    Problem with hardmod after softmod

    Hello,

    I'm new to Wii hacking.

I have a Wiikey fusion installed in my red 4.3 PAL Wii, which works perfect; I can play games form the additional SD card. Since I have the D4 drive this is my only option to play my backups. Large SD cards are expensive and I like the idea of loading games from HDD.

In order to do so I softmodded my wii with the Yugioh 5D in the additional SD slot.
I used the tutorials linked on the wiiflow page:
    Installing - WiiFloWiki

I now have wiiflow running from the homebrew channel, it sees the HDD with the games and downloads covers. However when I lauch a game after a long time without anything happening except the wiiflow loading screen I get an "eject disk" error. It's the same for all games.
I have Waninkoko v20b in Slot 249 with base 56, and the same in slot 250 but with base 57.

After this I left wiiflow and installed Configurable USB Loader. With this I have exactly the same problem.

Can anyone help me with this ? I'm really out of options.

your usb drive is likely going through a spin down/power off/standby due to inactivity, google for your drive and that isue, maybe you find a tool to alter the settings for it.
please only ask questions about guides if you are hacked the wiihacks.com way and used our softmod guides.
you missed to introduce yourself as well.

Thanks for the speedy reply. Just did the introduction, thanks for the heads-up. I did look into the wiihack tutorials but can't find anything I've done wrong. Perhaps remove the softmod and start from scratch with the wiihacks tutorials will be my only option ?

About the spindown, this seems unlikely to me since the disk still spins and it doesn't load games at all. From cold boot to the disk error screen takes me no longer than a minute. Could it be a hdd compatibility issue ? Or wouldn't it find the disk at all an not list the games if this was the case ?

if you decide on resoftmodding just install on top of what you got, no need to remove anything.
use the fat32 loading guide linked below to prepare your drive and the games properly. if you really got everything needed, the correct cIOS etc. it should work, but of course can still be a compability thing. just google for your drive and wii related stuff, we have a compability list as well.

Just finished a complete fresh install with the tutorial over here + partitioned and formatted an new WD harddrive. Everything must be o.k. but still my problem remains. On top of that when I now insert my SD card with games in the fusion SD reader (simulates a gamecube disk) I get a stupid new "in-between" hack screen which can only be controlled with gamecube controllers (which I don't have so I'm stuck there also)... How can I make my Wii a virgin again from softmodding, I don't want it anymore, cost me too much time allready. There should be a virgine tutorial on here but it looks like it has been removed ? Should I just reload the backup I made in the softmod progress and then uninstall homebrew, priiloader and bootmii ?

Right, another problem for me... Found out the "in-between" screen is WiiGator, which was installed by the MMM installer. I want to to a NAND restore anyway which I think will remove it altogether but since I can't install Bootmii as boot2 it won't let me because I have to enter the konami code... And I don't have classic controllers.....

Right now due to all my softmodding I have a Wii which won't play any form of backup, no SD, no DVD-R (4D drive) and no USB... Only way I can solve this this is buy more controllers Well done Nintendo

Can anyone advise me what to do ? I prefer to remove the softmod altogether. Any help would be appreciated.

Well I'm one step further. Found out the only way to remove WiiGator is installing a new MIOS V10 with DOP-Mii. It's not possible to remove it with the original WAD which installed is nor is it possible to use Any Title Deleter.

Ofcource I have a new issue. Before the softmod I selectected the game in the fusion menu with reset and holding down the reset made the Wii dp a reboot and loaded up the game. When I hold reset now the Wii freezes and when I power down&up again the game loads up.

Could it be priiloader ? Any ideas ?

    i have same problem

i think the only thing that make sense is wii fusion is messing up the loading of the soft mod backup launchers

cause i have done over 100 wii's and i test with my seagate harddrive and my sd card and always work but someone brought me a wii with a fusion installed and it does not work
