    wife updated

so... my son got a new game for the wii this christmas... it asked for a system update and my wife selected yes (thought I had priloader installed... apparently not) so anyway, as you can guess, I can no longer play any back up games... do I need to wipe my softmod clean, or is there some way I can just update it?

Just follow a softmod guide again. You don't need to remove anything.

I have a problem. I am not a noob to computers, but I have no knowledge of hacking my Wii. I paid a guy to hack it a year + ago and Friday my "wonderful" wife decided to accept the update. Needless to say the update failed and took along my ability to play both back-ups and original games. I can still play Wii channel games, but Homebrew is gone.

I've read thru a few of the threads and found the one that says "Softmod ANY Wii. I've also found threads that say just re-softmod. The problem ... I didn't do it in the first place. I don't know how the guy modded it, but he did a great job.

Which guide do I use? Do I need to use the same method he did? Or can I just follow the steps in the Softmod any Wii?

Thank you for any and all non-flame responses. My children are driving me nuts to get their Wii back.
