Rock Band 3 SDHC and Working Instruments??

    Softmodded 4.2U

Using USB Loader GX and loading from IOS222 the instruments work fine but game does NOT recognize the 8GB SDHC.

When loaded from IOS 249 base 57 (or base 56) the SDHC is recognized and fully functional BUT the instruments DO NOT work.

Is there any way to get my system to recognize the SDHC card AND have functioning instruments?

note: DLC from standard 2GB SD card works in both Rock Band 2 and 3. Beatles Rock Band peripherals also do not function when using the SDHC friendly IOS 249.

    cIOS info:

    cIOSX rev20
    - IOS249 base 57 in slot 249
    - IOS249 base 56 in slot 250

    Hermes rev4
    - IOS222 base 38 merged with 37
    - IOS223 base 38
    -IOS202 base 38 merged with 60

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

I believe the OP did. My suggestion would be to update 223 to v5.1 using the same base of 38 at try launching with it.

    Same Problem

I have this same problem, and have tried all CIOS's from rev 17 to rev20. Rev 20 I've tried Three combinations, the SDHC and Instrument friendly and normal stable IOS as well as Hermes Cios rev 4, 5 and 5.1 with various merged IOS combinations and CFG USB Loader, USB Loader GX, Uloader, and tried to update some other IOS's and pray to the gods but nothing works.

Through all of this testing, it always ends the same way - Either the instruments will work and the SDHC card won't or vice versa. I have no idea what to do.

I'm using Cios 249 w/ the SDHC friendly revision and the SDHC works and the instruments are spotty and sometimes work. I'll try to tweak later I guess. If anyone has any suggestions at all, it would be welcome (even if it's something I've already tried, I'm open to everything. I must be missing a merge, or need to update something.)

    Thanks.

have you tried 224 with base 57 in uLoader? From what I remember of RB2 I believe Base 37 (rev 19 or 20?) was to get the instruments to work. I'm not sure if RB3 uses a different IOS.

If that don't work you can just go into the uLoader RB3 settings and change the save game and DLC to load from the SDHC (all your highscores and current rb3 configuration will be gone until you change it back to load from NAND), as long as uLoader recognizes the card. When you run RB3 like this though it can sometimes run slow during first boot of the game but it should work fine.

EDIT: Just remember to ignore any SDHC errors since the game is now loading from the SD and not the NAND anymore (Emulation). At least this way you can use all 8gb of your SD card and still have working instruments.
