Hi,
It's been a while since i hacked my wii and i can't quite remember how i configured the bootmiii but i think i installed it as an IOS.
The thing is when i launch my wii i get the bootmii screen which is annoying.
I would like to remove it and reinstall it as boot2, so that i can launch it by pressing the home button in HBC.
What steps to i have to take?

It sound like you have bootmii installed a boot if it is booting straight into it on start up.
Either rename the bootmii folder to something like bootmii_2 or keep safe on your computer and delete it off the sd card.
Have you done a nand backup?
What Narse is trying to say is you already have bootmii installed as Boot2 (spelling error lol) and that is why you are going straight to Bootmii. :)

Yeah now you mention it i think bootmii is indeed launched through my sd card.
So by renaming the bootmii folder or deleting it it just disables my bootmii without any further consequences?
No i don't think i have done a nand backup yet... Been too lazy i guess :001:
First thing i do when i get home soon is making a backup.
So if bootmii is deleted from my sd card i can basically just reinstall it as boot2 without any hastle?
I had to hack a friend's wii with v4.3 (using the indiana pwns method) and it was then i learned about the boot2 method and priiloader and stuff. And now i want it for my wii also :)
I did a clean hack on a friend's wii and installed bootmii as boot2 but i don't see the bootmii screen by default when his wii is launched... :confused:

I would just rename the folder as Narse suggested or move it to your PC right after you do your NAND backup (very important). You may need them both someday.
No your wii has bootmii as boot2 already do a nand back up as this will get you out of 99.9% of bricks. As I said before just rename the bootmii folder on your sd card and bootmii wont load on start up. If bootmii was installed as an ios then it wouldnt boot on start up. That is why there is an option in the HB menu to lauch bootmii so the people that can only install as an ios have an option to access it.

ok so i took a nand backup and then copied the backup to my PC.
Then i moved the bootmii folder from the SD to my pc.
When i press the homebutton on HBC and select bootmii i just get a black screen :confused:
What's wrong?
You only want to use bootmii for the nand back up and recovery. If you put the bootmii folder back on the sd card then you wont get a black screen.
Leave it how it is.
