Wii Flow Freezes after an update required by My Sims Sky Heroes

Wii Flow was working fine (now shows running in 4.2U, not sure what it was before this) until my son bought and tried a new game - My Sims Sky Heroes. When he first tried to play it, the game needed an update to the Wii and he clicked yes. At this point the new game plays fine but when we bring up Wii Flow, the first screen comes up and when we press START it freezes with a black screen.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

The update killed your softmod. It re-stubbed your cIOS. Did you do the mod yourself? nevermind. regardless of who did it the first time, it will need to be remodded

The soft mod was done overseas, not by me. I'm pretty tech savvy so if you could point me in the right direction as to how to do the mod again, that would be awesome.

    Thanks in advance!

Was the Wii region-changed? If so, thats over my head. If it was originally system menu x.xU, I think you should be fine. Do a search for the guide by mauifrog-'softmod any wii'. I think its the best now. There is a couple more for 4.2 specifically that will also work. Good luck, and If you have questions regarding a certain guide, post in the guide. If you need any other help, PM me or post here and I'll do my best to help you out. Hit thanks, I need it!!
Also---If you make a post in the introduction section (the Mods like when you do), you will be given a bunch of usefull links.

I'm planning to do the mod per the tutorial. Since the update restubbed the COS, do i need to remove these stubs before i try the soft mod?

    Thanks

if you go through the guide, you'll be all set
but yes, you'll have to remove the stubs to install the cIOS's

Essentially you were advised to resoftmod as stated in reply #2. You can use Shadow Sonic's guide or Mauifrog's ANY Wii guide. Either will unstub the IOS via one method or another. And make sure you install Priiloader to avoid this in the future. While you're at it:

Ok i successfully soft modded it and WiiFlow now works. This board is amazing!!! One final question. How do I prevent auto updates or updates required by games like My Sims Sky Heroes?
