It seems you give information, but you don't. What are you trying to accomplish --- what I'm asking is why did you monkey with things in the first place? So left to your own devices, you thrashed around in the dark doing what --- deleting random things?!

I want to return the Wii back to it's original status - before the mods. You knew that already, because you pointed me to the "virginizing" guide. I am not asking for commentary on my doing something stupid. I understand that I made a mess of things. I am asking for help in correcting it.

reinstall the hbc (and bootmii as boot2 if you can (if it's not already installed), in case something goes wrong when virginizing)

No, I didn't know the nature of the problem and still do not --- what were you originally trying to accomplish? Are you returning this to Nintendo? Was it a failed softmod? You speak in circles and dance around the questions posed, and then take offense.

Thank you, us3rname. Maybe you should be a senior member/moderator.

nightstah ... I am trying to return the Wii to original status. Not that it is any of your business, but it is not a failed mod and it is not going back to Nintendo. I soldered in a Wiikey two years ago and successfully unsoldered it last week. I made a mistake uninstalling the Homebrew. I am not sure where the missing shop channel or failed updates came from. I probably caused it. I just am looking for guidance in correcting my mess.

    are you going to resoftmod?
or just virginize then leave it as that?

if you're going to resoftmod - it's not suggested to "start over"

You should watch your tone, you and I both know you've been less than candid. Let me get this straight: you REMOVED a hardmod. You're REMOVING a softmod. You're NOT returning it to Nintendo. All this because you want to play original/retail discs only as your stated goal or?

I don't have experience with hardmods, but from what I've read sometimes the software (IOS's, etc.) needed are different. Since you took the chip out, you may not have all of the needed IOS's, etc. To do what you need now that you're in softmod country. I would recommend taking us3rname's advice and reinstalling HBC and bootmii. From there, you should have no trouble with the virginizing guide, but I'd say you may want to make sure everything is working before updating, since as far as I can tell System Menu 4.3 is all piracy prevention.

Well virginizing is just extra steps and quite risky ones I might add, but I guess Nightstah should not concern himself with your well-being as that makes him a bad moderator Huh?

I am done telling you my business just to have you clutter up the board while trying your best to not help. Thanks, but it appears that I found some helpful people.
