Black screen on game loading - Everything worked fine yesterday - Driving me NUTS

First of all - hi everyone - hope someone can help. I can assure you all that i have spent 24hrs trying to resolve this problem myself - searching this site and through the rest of the internet - and have not found a working solution. Apologies in advance if any mods feel this is posted in the wrong part of the forums - feel free to correct me. I supplicate myself before your collective superior wisdom.

    Problem Outline

My problem is this. I softmodded my Wii using the excellent, comprehensive instructions off this site (including downgrading from 4.3e using indiana PWNS exploit), and got 15 or so games up and running on my WD passport 500gb drive, formatted to WBFS. Everything was working fine for a number of days, but after last night adding Metroid other M to the HD, none of the other games will run - Metroid M works fine, but attempting to run any other game results in a black screen and the console crashing, forcing me to power off.

    Stuff i have tried already

The problem was very similar to the following:

I tried the solution outlined above - backed up the game files, reformatted my drive as FAT32, put the files back on the Passport drive using Game Manager, and... Same result as before. None of the games will load EXCEPT for Metroid M. Oh - and i have tried three different loaders (usb loader gx, cfg loader and wiiflow) to no avail.
I have also tried updating using the MMM_Pack as described here:

    http://www.wiihacks.com/general-home...ons-guide.html

I did this with no real expectation that it would work, and indeed it didnt.

I am clueless as to why this previously stable system should have suddenly stopped working. I would welcome any constructive advice or suggestions - am dying to get things up and running again.

    my syscheck file:

    Spoiler

any further info i can give to help you help me?

    thanks in advance chaps...

sounds blunt. but did you change the global settings in the loader to use ios223?
you just need to change it on special games like metroid other M to that.
so if using cfg loader press two times 1 to enter global settings, revert it to ios250. save with 2.
go to metroid, press only one time 1. set to 223. press 2 to save.
    play all games like normal

    hope that helps

    Hi, thanks for your reply.

In answer - no, i didn't. I checked the settings on the loader anyway:

    Loader Version: 58
    IOS250 (r20) [FRAG]
    Base: IOS57 rev20 mload v1.0

    any more ideas?

you can update your loader to v60
    Guide: Installing CFG Loader

as you don't have that much games yet. This is a good point to switch to Fat32 loading.
Check out the guide linked below, maybe you see some benifits to make you work on that.
Pretty simple in overall, backup games to PC if not still present in some folder. Format drive to Fat32 using windows or one of the provided tools there. Get wiigamemanager to load your .iso on PC and add them to the drive in .wbfs format in a \wbfs folder (so small size like on a wbfs formatted drive but with the ability to have all apps alongside etc.)
Hope you figure out what helps to recover your games.
    good luck

thanks again, have already reformatted to FAT32 though

Thanks for your continued attention vinatec, i really appreciate it...

However, I mentioned in my original post that i have already reformatted to FAT32 and transferred my image files using GameManager. This did not help.

I will try updating my loader to v60 though, will be sure and let you know if that makes a difference.

Anyone else have any ideas? I'm not totally technically incompetent, and this whole scenario has me totally stumped. For it to be working 100% one minute, then spannered & glitchy after installing a single game...If this was a windows/linux installation, i would be tempted to uninstall everything and start all over again - is this something that is worth doing on a wii? Does anyone have any experience that uninstalling a softmod setup and restarting is likely to improve things, and is it a straightforward process? All comments or suggestions gratefully received...

    Regards as ever....
