    Increasing USB Ports... how?

I've searched high and low on this site and about 10 others. With my HD taking up one of the ports, the second port just isn't cutting it for peripheral usb devices such as those for Rockband. I tried a usb splitter -- FAIL. Possibly it was the one I bought. Anyone have a solution to this?

    Thanks!

Nintendo recommends a Premium USB Hub with an external power source, made by Logitech.

    * Nintendo has not licensed any makes of commercially available USB hubs for use with the Wii console. Accordingly, Nintendo cannot guarantee that they will all be compatible with the Wii console. However, without wishing to make any particular recommendation, Nintendo can confirm that it has tested the Premium 4-Port USB hub manufactured by Logitech and that it appears to function properly.
