Need help with Softmodding WII with System Menu 3.4

Hi Wiihacks Scene , I just got my 4th WII about 2 weeks ago and it has a System Menu 3.4

I plan to use this Tutorial by Dogeggs ………….

    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...html#post96309

I have successfully hacked one of my System Menu 4.1’s the other two 4.1’s can wait but I am trying to learn how to get my 3.4 hacked.

OK I am going to dumb it down for myself and turn Dogeggs into a Step by Step Guide for me.

As the Tutorial goes I should do Steps 1 2 and 3 when I get to 4 do this………….

    4. UPDATE YOUR SYSTEM MENU VERSION

    1. install the patched IOS60 first , before you update to 4.1 make sure you have at least 250 blocks free or you will brick

    2. To install the IOS60patched wad file, go the the HBC menu and run Wad Manager. Accept the default settings:

    IOS249

Press A to enter WII SD Slot

Go down to WAD and select it and Press A on IOS60-patched.wad to install

    3. Now For a Wii without an Internet connection, go here

    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...tml#post353075

and do Steps 1 2 and 3 to update to System Menu 4.1

then continue to Step 5B in this tutorial.

    4. Now if im correct I can skip the before mentioned Step 5B and go straight to Step 5D

5d) In the Priiloader menu select Homebrew Channel (if you didn't install Priiloader then just open HBC as normal), run Wad Manager, use default settings (IOS249 & SD card) and install these wads from the 'wad' folder:

    IOS38-64-v3867
    IOS50-64-v4889
    IOS53-64-v5406
    IOS55-64-v5406
    Neogamma Channel - R8

    done !

What do you guys think am OK to go with the dumbed down Tutorial I have assembled ?

    Any info helps

Your post is a bit confusing, because you have text from the guide mixed with your own text. Next time, you could try using a quote, like this:
This is some text from someone else, which I quoted.
Anyway, as far as I understand, you want to skip steps some steps, but it is not clear to me which steps, or why you want to skip them.
Awesome sig picture does not work

hiya Bliepo , Thanks for replying and setting me straight your right it seems to be confusing to many as i havent got any responses in about 40 views ..........my bad.

Anyway, as far as I understand, you want to skip steps some steps, but it is not clear to me which steps, or why you want to skip them.
    OK ill try to explain.........

What i need to do in Dogeggs Tutorial ' New 3.1-4.1 Softmod for ANY Wii '

    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...html#post96309

    is Steps 1 2 3 and 4........

now in Step 4 it says............

For a Wii without an Internet connection, go HERE and do Steps 1, 2, and 3 and then continue to Step 5B in this tutorial. An offline update will update only the system menu where the online updater will also install and update IOSes and channels so the online method is very much preferred.

If im correct i can go straight to Step 5D complete that and be successful.

ie ignore going to Step 5B and 5C and straight to 5D.......i have done this before with my 4.1 WII and was successful. The Member wiimaster4eva suggested this to me.

I may be wrong though trying this as im trying to Softmod a 3.4 WII instead of a 4.1 WII.

Let me know what you think......

I recommend going through every step. Certainly because it handles installing priiloader, which gives you some extra brick protection.

nice Guide link stmcmurray76 thanks for that , i havent started attempting the Dogeggs Tutorial yet i am building up some courage and am reading and re-reading the Steps 5B to Step 5C parts so i can make a successful Softmod for the 3.4 WII. I am confident with Dogeggs for 4.X as ive done it before......

I plan on getting more WII's in the future i have 4 atm and am getting another this week , another in about 3 weeks and probably more after that. That Guide you suggested will come in handy if i have any troubles Softmodding a 3.X ........the Priiloader section is very helpful as im going to be using Priiloader for the 1st time.

Thanks again for your input stmcmurray76

Well, I also suggest the softmod ANY wii guide made by mauifrog, because it gives some extra brick protection (e.g. been able to use recovery discs in the recovery menu and update protection)

I have been going through the Dogeggs Tutorial and have it almost figured out , i am stuck on one part though and need some help.

OK........in Step 4 of Dogeggs Tutorial it says this

For a Wii without an Internet connection, go HERE and do Steps 1, 2, and 3 and then continue to Step 5B in this tutorial. An offline update will update only the system menu where the online updater will also install and update IOSes and channels so the online method is very much preferred.

Cool no problemo.......when i get to the go Here part (its a link to another page) i am a bit stuck

    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...tml#post353075

Here is the problem im having .........

This Copy and Pasted from the Linked page

BEFORE YOU BEGIN: Ensure you have at least 250+blocks free on your wii or YOU WILL BRICK!

    Download Cios38rev17 Installer HERE

-Place the installer folder in the Apps folder on your SD Card

-Go to homebrew and run the installer.

***If you don't have internet access, you can get the cios38rev17.wad file HERE. (Thanks to Cile.)

What i need is someone to give a Step by Step Guide on what to do with this part..........

-Go to homebrew and run the installer.

It seems too easy to just run the Installer and thats it , isnt there more to it ?........if so can someone elaborate on what i have to do after i have run the Installer.

    really hoping for a reply
