I hope this helps but I installed it to IOS 249 using IOS 249 and when I ran Def Jam Rapstar as IOS 249 it worked, I use configurable usb loader and have Logitec mics. IOS 224 was causing Def Jam to freeze right before the title screen.

Well i finally got it to work.
Used the cIOSX rev 20b installler that metal provided. I followed the instruction from the read me file. While doing this i also used the recommended installs by Metal.
After the update i tried using 222 but i kept getting 002 error. So i went back to default settings 249 and now the mic is recognized. yay.
Using USB Uploader GX. Good luck all

Ok I was having the same problems as everyone else here trying to get this game and Grease to accept the mic. and I had tried everything to get it running with no luck till now.

    I'm running 4.2e 249rev17 hermes ver 5 222/223/224
I updated IOS 57 to the newest ver via NUSD

here is what worked for me.

config USB ver 60 with 224

and it ran and picked up the mic's

I have tried it with the following mics. GH-World Tour, Disney interactive, Disney High School Musical, and an EA microphone from Boogie ( I think ) all worked with no issues.
I also tried them with a cheap USB 4 port HUB and it also worked with no issues.
I have not tried this with USB GX , uLoader or Wii Flow 2.0 as of yet but I would assume that it would be working.

I hope this helps everyone there. I know my kids will now stop yelling at me to get this game working as they love Grease and want to sing!and the wife like rap.

I'd rather stick with GH !!

    Cheers All

Ok I just tested it with uLoader 5.1e, and wiiflow and it's working.

You might want to use that "edit" button and fix your post --- running 4.23?

A lil help for a friend

I did everything that Metals post said. Followed the README to a "T". I'm not sure what IOS I was running because I did my Wii like a year ago and totally forgot what I did. I know that I launch on DVD with NeoGamma 7 IOS249 Rev 20(if that helps). Still can't get this damn mic to work! GRRRR!

I have a Rockband and GHWT mic and neither work.

Thanks for the feedback in advance.

Mics need Hermes IOS 222 Rev 4 (at least if in conjunction with other USB devices --- HDs, thumb drives, etc). Neo Gamma R8 final has been released for sometime, as has R9 upper 40 betas. We usually recommended IOS 249 Rev 17 for most things, but I've not stayed up on the RB/GH games. Hermes here, Neo Gamma R8 and R9 betas here.

I would try Hermes cIOS224 v5.1 Base 37. I think people reported that working....also then you don't need to install cIOSx rev 20 if you don't want. Following the Install instructions for 222/223/224 in the GH6 guide will install this cIOS for you to try (or you can just use the cIOS installer if you want). It might also work with the cIOS nightstah suggested (which is also installed in the GH6 guide).
    Damn I suck!!!!

Perfect! I installed the rev20b on IOS249, then selected IOS57-IOS57-64-V5918, downloaded the WAD (completed successfully), exit to Wii Menu and did a hard power down. Booted up, went to USBLoader GX, changed the default IOS to 249 for RapStar only(instead of 222) and loaded the game. Went to calibrate and MIC found (Logitech connect through Rock Band wireless modules). I hope that helps.

Thanks to Metal for the find!
