Stomp i do apologize about that, i guess in all the frustration in trying to get this thing to work in the past two days just left me with a drained mind. I never installed the homebrew on my wii and hdd loader a friend of mine did it all for me so i am pretty clueless as to how it all works, i have been reading and learning as much as possible over the past 2 days once i ran into this usb mic issue, i originally installed the wiikey2 on this wii some time back to please bare with my lack of soft-modding knowledge. here are the attempts that i tried so far.
cIOSX rev20b - following readme instructions.
install Hermes cIOS v4 - following advise from the forums members who had success
cIOSX_rev20b_Installer0 - appears to be the same as the above?

where i am now? when i go to the usb loader and select a game system just freezes. not sure how to go back.

This is what my SD card looks like right now. if that helps top half are the folders.

stunner here is the requested file. when run cIOS249_rev17_Installer i can load games using usb loader gx. when i try using cIOSX rev20b and usb loader gx wii locks up once i click on a game. i did however get to play the game with mic working using cIOSX rev20b and configurable usb loader set game to 249, but if i go back to usb loader gx it freezes again. also how would i add configurable usb loader as a channel for easier access? if this is what i need to use as opposed to GX. thanks again fellas with your patience and helping me through this.

I'm new at this but I think you should edit your console id - I've seen it done somewhere but donno why.

I went with Hermes cIOS v5.1 and cIOSX rev20, and got rid of GX for CFG. GX is nice to look at but causes problems so don't use it. Too bad one of the guides tell us to download it :-(

Hello ALpHaMoNk, I had the same issue as you did. When I installed the Rev 20b everything locks up for your USB. If you reload rev 17, or rev 20 and not rev 20b your usb works once again. I have done this many of times trying to get my mics to work but they still dont work

use Hermes cIOS v5.1 on IOS222, 223 and then select dj to run off 223. That's what I have and it works off 223.

His cIOS setup is just fine. Version 4 is still the most compatible version, so he should only install 5.1 on 202 and 224 (like it is). There is a reason that guides still say to install version 4.

You are partially correct about what the guide says, Stomp wrote,Jan 2010, in one of those guides that he recommended hermes cIOS v4 and not v5 because of compatibility issues with other usb loaders.
see here, http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...222-223-a.html. I did recommend the CFG loader with the upgrade, and that's what worked for ME.

Looking more closely I verified my global setting is IOS249 and DJ game setting is IOS224.
Before flamming please realize this is what works for me. What setting is it for you, Joos?

I suppose I did come off a bit strong. I was not trying to flame you.
Hermes v5 allows using different bases, and when they work, they run a bit faster than v4. The problem is they don't always work. That is why (most) guides say to use v4 on 222 and 223. If it works with 224, that's great, use it for the best speed. However, it is best to have 222/223 to fall back on if you run into errors. This is the most common setup for hermes cIOS today:

202v5.1 base 60
222v4 base 38
223v4 base 38 merged with 37
224v5.1 base 57

When version 5 came out, I immediately updated. I figured new=better. Unfortunately, several of my games messed up with it, so I went back to 4, like most people. While a several apps now have at least some compatibility with v5, not everything does. It is the same with version 18+ of Waninkoko's cIOS's. Rev17 remains the most compatible, but not the fastest, since it only uses IOS38 as a base.

My global setting is 222v4, because it works with almost everything. I change it for some games like MH3, but it stays where it is for most games.
