Is it ok to install wii music forced update?

So I don't have to go back and use WIU to take it off. Is it ok to update? The game is the same region as my wii so I won't get semi-bricked. I don't have any of these new patches and such that effect dvd reader capabilities and possibly the HBC, whatever else.

Yes, as long as the game is the same
region as your console.. then yes...
and you non-region games, make sure you patch
the iso prior to burning using
    WiiBrickBlocker ...alright, have fun!

    Awesome, thanks.

And for whatever reason I could never get any PAL game to work. Regardless of if I patched it to NTSC or not. All NTSC games I get work fine. Apparently the d2pro9 isn't exactly region free :P

I've tried about 5 games. But I've also heard it depends on the game?

pal has a about a 50/50 work chance on ntsc wii's from what i understand, just install HBC, and boot in GeckoOS and youll be fine

as for the update, thats 3.3 so unless you play out of region games a lot, or patched games, and use homebrew a lot, then dont install, and just find a fix, or block the update with a modchip update like most have, or a HBC program, if none of this pertains to you, then feel free to go all the way to 3.4

I have installed many d2pro9 before...
I know once it's installed, then you need
to load an original disc so it will configure
the region on the Chip. but if that's the
case it still should work after you patch it...
I know the ones i worked did load pal games
cause my customers would ask me about it:
If it was ok to play Pal games..

Ah, so you have to boot using that region free program with the HBC? I thought it depended on the mod chip, regardless.

How do you block the update with a mod chip? I guess I'll just use WIU or something. What's the best program for stripping .iso's of patches?

Yeah, the guy that installed mine set it to NTSC.

Am I supposed to patch the d2pro9? When was the last update released? I haven't gotten any pal games to work but I didn't try to use the HBC to boot it either.

For D2Pro9 I believe the 1.7 utility disc needs to installed to have the ability to block updates.

it does, and thats what i would do, and look into Homebrew, its good for booting things, and such, if you dont want to make this overly complex, you can just download the update
