Unhappy Confused on a few things!

I had my wiikey2 for about a week its installed and running great all that time, but reading and reading I get confused on a few things if not a lot.

    1. what is factory 'silvers'
    2. what is a wad file
    3. converting games region like pal to ntsc is some sort of trial and error ? so its always good to run a regionpatcher on a pal game .
    4. running an update from a pal game on an ntsc console, its a no no !! Its good to run updates from ntsc games ?
    5. beside running homebrew apps, why you need the homebrew channel
    6. does wii force system updates like the x360 ?

    thanks a lot !

1 if i recall its proof its a actual im sure i am wrong but it doesnt really matter
2 a installer file like EXE for the wii, used for IOS's, programs, VC games, and wiiware
3 if you have a mod chip odds are you shouldnt/wont need to bother doing that
4 its only RECOMENDED to update from the region of your wii if its NTSC/U then get NTSC/U updates but stop at 3.2, but you can change the region if you want with anyregion changer
5 installing Wads, installing other useful things, getting past issues like 3.3's fake sign bug fix, and booting in Gecko OS if it doesnt load, or things like that, if you dont do anything but play in your region then update all you want
6 kinda, if you have Wii 24 connect enabled, you get the choice, and games with a higher firmware than you ask, but you can block/remove/edit/disable them

-sigh- people need to read more and ask less =\

'silvers' are chinese pressed duplicates, they look just like the original games, and are professionally pressed, but they do not contain the security data to make them run without a modded system.

I indeed read a lot before post this but I want to clarify a few things, I use to have a modded xbox 1 and I think it was more complicated than this and demand more reading.

the problem is you never find the info you are looking for. it would be cool if there was some sort of a glossary or something like that.

like the 'silvers' support thing its a modchip feature and i didnt find anything that would explain what was that.

find a lot of info about changing ntsc to pal but not the other way around.

I get here to the FAQ,guide tutorial section in search of answer I didnt find one so I post.

anyway thanks a lot for your time and patience.

silvers isnt a modchip feature, but modchips will state they can read it as a media type

the thing is a lot of people like myself, only go into things they know, and things like 'silvers' arnt intresting since i can make my own and i have a chip, like 60%+ of the community, so its more about things like that if you WANT help like that

wiibrew.org is for you, its basicly a homebrew wiki, very helpful for MOST things :3
