[WIFI] No Access Point problem

Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone has encountered the problem I'm having or if you know how to solve it. I've tried site and google search with no luck.

I'm trying to get my friends wii to connect to a network, this wii has previosly been connected to his and my own network.

At this moment I'm trying to connect to my network but I keep getting "No access point found" whilst searching for my network.

I have tried manually entering my router settings (using ipconfig all method) and numerous times trying automatic search.

I have 2 other Wii's in my possesion at the moment that are quite able to connect to my network using both auto and manual.

So my thinking it is the wii at fault not my router.

So any ideas?

Maybe any ios i could reinstall?

Thanks I will continue to try fix this as I wait a reply, hopefully this isnt a knackered wifi module :(


EDIT: Since my last post I have added IOS58 and updated to hbc 1.0.8 and priiloader v0.5beta
Still no luck (I guessed it wouldnt).

I've noticed that if i short press the power button (to turn off wii) it acts like wiiconnect24 is turned on (orange light) but in system menu settings wc24 just asks me to setup a connection.

I give up on this for the night I need some sleep I'll be back on this tommorrow and try out some other stuff.

Make sure all the wifi settings in priiloader are disabled. Or, if they are already disabled, try enabling them 1 by 1. The wifi on the wii might have fitzed out also.

Just tried priiloader by disabling all hacks and enabling one by one with no luck. Wifi still no go.

I believe it is probably the wifi module that has broken.

I heard you can use a usb>Ethernet adapter to get online with the wii,
I dont know how well that will work on a soft modded wii with a hard drive attached anyone know?

If I get no luck here i might have to ask that question somewhere else on site.

I have a dea wii board with wifi module + antena's if you think its a hardware problem. In the UK also, let me know if you need it.

Me and my friend have no experience of taking the wii apart and I believe there is some risk of breaking the antenna whilst doing so.
The only reason he is wanting the wifi is for BBCi player so I spoke to him and he is thinking of just getting the USB>Ethernet adapter.
He rarely plays on line and could probably wait for wiiflow to fully support the adapter (I heard it dont just yet)
He will just have to do some offline updating and adding covers untill then

I think I have heard that if one part goes bad the system will simply not boot. I know this is true for the BT module and vaguely recall bad_ad84 also saying something about wifi causing the same type of failure. I'm not sure if this is your issue, but I would clear all internet settings and also try to connect to other wireless points before I started messing with hardware. Hope you get it going!

I've cleared all internet settings previously of this wii so i dont think it will help but I'll try again.

I've got 2 options I want to explore. here they are.

• Format wii system memory.
  I believe by doing this all saves, mii's and channels (i.e hbc) will be erased, I will back them up first so Im not worried about this.
  Should I be fine? or is there other repercussions I should be aware of?
  
• Re-install IOS60-patched.
  Maybe it has become corrupt in some way.
  Is this risky? Will I have to uninstall priiloader first or install it again after?

Ive not performed either of these steps before on a modified wii, that plus no bootmii/boot2 safeguard, I need to excersise a bit of caution.

Any help on this would be brilliant.

I think that whilst I await a reply from someone I will make a backup of my own nand and later today try the steps on my own wii (has bootmii as boot2) to see the outcome of each.
Then if anything does go wrong I'm happy I have the protection there to revert back to a working state.

Sounds like its probably the wifi module to me.

I sell them + the antennas for around £7-8 on ebay including shipping and im based in the UK.

The wii isnt very hard to take apart and its unlikely you will damage the antennas (plus you would have a spare set from me anyway), but if you dont feel up for it, i can take a look at it for you.
