Question Animal Crossing: City Folk 4.2u

Hello! I'm a pretty new wii modder but I have learned the ropes pretty well, and my wii is running beautifully. That is, except for ONE game that just doesn't seem to want to work... at all!

Animal Crossing: City folk is giving me a really hard time that in I can't run it ANYWHERE. I have the legit, ntsc disc, and when I go to play it (through the disc channel) the screen shows a picture of a depressed resetti and a little bird and says "Disc cannot be read, Refer to the wii operations manual." And when I try to run a backup of it through... well I've tried "Coverloader," "Configurable USB loader," and "USB loader GX,' it looks like it's about to start up and then just sits at a black screen forever.

I have SCOURED the internet looking for a solution and I just cant find one! I have installed the latest ios38, then the latest cios38, and cios53 and 55. I intalled Hermes cios222 and even reinstalled my system menu (which is 4.2u). All my other backups (legitimate games) work both in the disc channel AND my loaders, even new ones like Super Mario Galaxy 2.

I'm really at a loss. If anybody can help me that'd be great. I really wanna play this game! Thanks for reading! And DOUBLE thanks for replying!

    Edit:
Ok, so somebody told me to run "Pimp my Wii" and I did, but it still didnt work. So I guess all my ios's are up to date, and they apparently all have the trucha bug installed.
    *sigh*
It still didn't work though. I guess... patience is my friend from this point on
So yeah. Im at a total dead end. lol

Whoever told you to use pimpmywii, I wouldn't listen to them anymore. It sounds like the disc is damaged or scratched. If all of your other games work then the most obvious solution would be the media (be it retail or backup).
    Damn I suck!!!!

Wow. 5 hours of searching and updating and researching and reupdating... all for a scratched disc. Honestly, it crossed my mind, but the disc was in excellent condition. Got it buffered today and it was fine! So anyways, I feel kinda retarded, but at least I'm lightyears ahead of understanding my wii thanks to the toil I went through last night, and it's completely up to date now so at least it wasn't a complete waste of time. Thank you very much, Krank!
