My Homebrew Was Working Fine, But now it no longer works. It loads, but black screens
I followed This Tutorial to the T:
I have not updated or done anything else to the Wii. Wii Connect 24 has been off.
My Homebrew and Usb Loader were working wonderfully, and then suddenly nothing worked. I could launch every game, but by the time the 2nd or 3rd loading sequence opened up, the game would freeze and black screen. Sometimes, the game would just stop responding to controls, but the screen was still visible.
IOS 249 rev17
CFG Loader v57
no Hermes 222, etc installed
I have also tried USB Loader GX, and WiiFlow, and gotten the same result.
Games that have this problem (aka all the games i have backups of):
Nights - Journey into Dreams
Arc Rise Fantasia
Batman: The Brave and the Bold
007: Quantum of Solace
Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions
Sonic and the Black Knight
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
Muramasa: The Deamon Blade
I have tried doing a Nand Restore to earlier, and it has this same problem. What should i do?
I am new to the forums, an I apologize if this has been posed before.
A nand restore to a fresh wii? As in you made a back up right after you installed bootmii and the homebrew channel? So then you rehacked it and are still having the same problems? If this is what you did, it sounds like your HDD isn't very compatible, is dying, or may be spinning down. Have you tried disabling spindown on the drive? You say 2nd or 3rd loading sequence which makes me think it could be powering down, or just going bad. If it's a usb powered drive and it has the usb y adapter, I would highly suggest plugging both in: really helps with power. How about your other homebrew apps? Do they work correctly? Wiihacks and GBATemp have a USB compatibility list.
I would also install Hermes v4 ios222. (The best, imo )

Wii64/WiiSX Hard Drive Fix
4.2u/ bootmii-boot2/ cfg usb loader v60/ Hermes Uloader 5.1D (for WW/VC)/ IOS 249 Rev 17/ IOS 222-223 v4/ IOS 224 v5.1/ 320gb Transcend HDD/ Darkwii System Menu Theme
Hmm - that seems logical that my Hard drive is to blame.
Its a 4 year old internal hard drive for a laptop, that I put in a $10 case off amazon and connected to my wii.
I will try booting some of the games with freezing problems on a flash drive, and see if that fixes it.
if so... its time to go shopping for a new HDD for my wii
