    Turning Off Wii

I turn my Wii off by holding the Power button on the Wii remote and it shuts down the Wii and the power button on the Wii goes Orange but my external portable HDD is still on and my TV shows a black screen, but when I unplug the plug from the wall, the external portable HDD turns off and the TV will appear AV3, so is there a way that I can turn my Wii off and it will turn off the external portable HDD and will not show a black screen, just show AV3 channel

Sure there is; turn off WiConnect24/Standby mode (something you shouldn't engage, btw in the first place).

in first place, thatīs the way nintendo sends you their updates. In second, the system gets too hot, and that can cause problems later

I hope you have Priiloader installed along with the block online updates. WiiConnect24/Standby mode would otherwise potentially install an unsolicited online update. Standby mode can allow for heat buildup inside your unit and over time shorten the life of the unit. This used to be refered to as "white dots of death," if memory serves.

    Thanks for the reply guys!
I do have block updates set in priiloader, and to ingore standby mode.
So I never shut it down to standby mode, I just like WiiConnect 24 on when my wii powers up so i can check weather, the store, and sometimes the news.
