I found the wii on the floor with the flashdrive shattered and the port 0 prongs bent and mangled. When I get him a new wii I will take the old one and get a case mod. That way I can do some experiments maybe possible to reverse the connections on the ports to make the port 1 active. I got amonth or so to go before I have the money to play around and see.

    Hah yeah..

And thanks for going to such lengths to help me out, Krafter, I appreciate it. It's a shame there's probably nothing I can do =P I might check to see if someone I know, who doesn't need the USB ports, would be willing to trade consoles. Otherwise, I'm probably just going to have to buy a new one :P

I would probably be cheaper to have it repaired if you can find someone local.

i thought some of the older revs of gxloader worked the the usb1 port. r815 rings a bell for some reason, way before it had disc loading and the like. could be totally wrong but im almost sure mine would work from either port

just looked into it there and i think it was the rev of the cios. i started at cios r 10 which i think supported both usb ports, but as it really outdated it anit really going to help you much
