    Absolutely lost, please help.

    Hey guys,

I currently own a modded Korean Wii running 3.3K firmware.

I purchased the Wii back in 3/2009 along with some games.

The funny thing is, everytime I try to play a back-up game, it gives me a black error screen and does not recognize the game at all.

I'm using imageburn and burning the games at 4x 2x and even at 1x speeds, I've blown away 10+ dvd discs already (dvd-r)

I already own some games that were sold to me as a package by the original seller, and those games work just fine despite the fact that they're burned, and yet, when I burn them, they don't work at all.

What am I doing wrong? I've researched online but I'm still am so lost.

If there are any additional information that would clarify my situation, please, let me know.

Thank you much for your time reading.

Black screen is usually missing ios and if your wii is softmodded and on firmware 3.3 and u have not touched it i'm assuming this is the case. Do u have the homebrew channel? If so run syscheck or dop mii to get a report of what is installed. You can then check this guide to see if you have the required ios to run them.

    re:

thank you so much for replying to the thread,

I do have a modchip installed, and am running the 3.3K wii menu.

As far as IOS goes, although i don't think i understand it too well, i looked at the list and saw that zelda runs at 9 (launch title) or 40? i think? (which is the 3.3K ios)

I'm just so lost and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I'm burning the games on high quality dvd-r's as well, and those are the ones the seller used to burn, and they work perfectly fine.

Basically the problem is that whenever i put int the disc, and the wii recognizes that the disc is in there, I get a black screen saying that a system error has occured and that i should refer to the wii manual. The Wii isn't bricked or anything, as I can re-start fine, as long as that burnt copy isn't in the Wii.

What am I doing wrong? it seems like everyone online is doing just fine with this.

What modchip r u using? i would normally recommend to update with a original game with 4.1 on it but i'm not too familiar with korean wii's so i would hang fire until somebody else comments.

Are you using a Modchip or a backup loader app to run the games? Try NeoGamma and see if that works.

You can also try a different DVD burner.

Hey guys, i don't even know what modchip I'm using. I just bought it from a store with the chip installed.

A different burner is something I guess I could try. I'm currently using my laptop's dvd-rw drive... but im not sure why the burner would make any difference....(forgive me for my ignorance.)
