Partial Update from 4.1 to 4.?

    Hey all,

I modded my friends Wii last year. It was a 3.x (4 maybe?), during the mod I updated the system menu to 4.1. Everything worked great for 8 months or so. He came home from work and found the HBC and USBLoaderGX channels had disappeared. I can still access bootmii and priiloader. When I go into settings, it still reports the Wii as a 4.1. When I tried to load the bannerbomb that came w/ the 4.1 mod pack, the Wii would freeze. I tried loading the bannerbomb that I downloaded to mod my 4.2 Wii. It loaded fine and I was able to reinstall HBC & DVDX, but reports bootmii can only be installed as an IOS. I had "Block Disc Updates" enabled in PriiLoader, but my uneducated opinion tells me that an update was started from disc and quickly stopped... needless to say, I have a few questions...

    1. Is the update from disc even possible with "block disc updates" enabled? Has nintendo found a way to circumvent that hack? (The hack.ini I used is a year old if that makes a difference)

    2. Will the custom IOSs I've installed need to be reinstalled? Is there an app to run that can check which versions are installed?

    3. I can still access bootmii from priiloader, which means its still installed in boot2 right?

    4. Would I be better just leaving it as it is, restoring nand or completing the upgrade to 4.2?

    5. Are games being released w/ 4.3 updates or is that strictly online at the moment? Will finishing an update that started as 4.3 w/ 4.2 adversely affect the Wii?

Thanks in advance for any help!

It probably updated some things but wasn't able to do much with that hack enabled. I would recommend following mauifrog's guide to straighten everything up. I will post the link in this post when I find it.

Upon completion of this guide, the answers you seek will become all to clear and you will understand why I recommended it.

Looks like you are on a 4.1 system menu version. I don;t know what some of those ios revisions should be, but you custom ios 249 is enabled, Your system menu ios is enabled, and you're enabled on ios36 as well. I think the problem with the bootmi is in the ios254 being stubbed. I also Don't believe ios 30 should be stubbed either.

Anyway Like I said, if you want to try the guide out, It won't hurt anything and will install the cios rev19 correctly, since alot of ppl have a hard time installing that correctly. It will also update and patch any othe ios's that you are uncertain of. After that I would look into installing hermes cios 222, just to have a more complete mod.
