So Which Is it? RB? SD card? What?

I used the same SD card to install homebrew that I'd been saving my data on, for lack of another card, and homebrew works fine. However, some of the game data on the card, for example my Beatles: RB data doesn't register anymore. It simply comes up on the SD card menu (under memory) as a block with a large ? on the front. On the other hand, about four of my games still come up fine. What did I do wrong? Is there any way to restore the ? data?

If you followed the guide I believe it tells you to format your sd card. So If you formatted your card without backing up your data on your pc, then yes it is gone.

I did format the card, but I used copy paste backups, which as I said simply come up as a block with a question mark for the image.

If only the rockband data won't show up, you may need to go back to the music store in the game and redownload it. If that won't work backup everything and make sure you have a compatible 2G sd card (not sdhc). Reformat card to fat32, then put your stuff back on and try again.

Of course my question is, if the OP followed the RB guide then why doesn't he post this in-thread? Instead, another thread for no legitimate reason (in the sense it could've been dealt with in-thread).

User apparently has expressed issue(s) aren't "solely" RB-oriented, so have reopened thread. OP: you really need to clarify, as reading as stated you only asked about a RB-related issue with your SD card. If you have additional questions or issues, best to spell them out --- OK?

    Alright then. To reiterate:
When I look at my SD card under Wii memory settings, the display shows a series of blocks with small icons on them depicting what game they represent. ABOUT HALF of them have suddenly become problematic, displaying large question marks instead of the logo telling which game it is. In addition, the games will not read the save data. What precisely did I do incorrectly that would cause this to happen, and is there a way to rectify it?
    Thank you.

Well, thanks anyway. I managed to solve the issue myself. I don't know what caused it, so I can't help you there, but I recopied the data I'd backed up on my computer, and now it works fine.
    Thanks for the help, everybody.
