I updated my Wii by accident after I got SMG2, now I can't play backups...

I got SMG2 as a gift and my wife popped the game in and did the mandatory update. Well, now I can't play backups. I did the softmod from this guide.. I have version 4.2u

    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...tem-menus.html

What step do I need to re-do in order to play backups again with neogamma? should I install a newer version or what do I need to do, the homebrew channel and the mediaplayer CE seems to be working fine. The only thing not working is the backup launcher and neogamma. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Follow the 4.2 guide. The main thing is unstubbing your IOS and reinstalling cIOS.
    Damn I suck!!!!

The update removed your softmod, do all of messies guide including installing priiloader to block disc/online updates to stop accidental updates in the future.

Basically repeat steps from part B- PART B: The extermination of the evil stub ios249?, then part C- Installing cios38rev14 ...? or basically what's unstubbing?

A stub is a dummy IOS that Nintendo created to fill the spots for any cIOS. You will have to follow the guide to reinstall the cIOS including removing the stubs. I would suggest that you follow the entire guide and install priiloader to prevent this in the future.

Follow the guide from part B that will get rid of the stub, give you cios and priiloader.

Ya exactly. As mentioned above you can follow the entire guide if you want. Install priiloader this time deff.

A stub is installed to IOS slots that are no longer used. Such as old system menu IOS like 30 and 50. The 4.2 update installs stubs in 200 plus range for obvious reasons. If you come into any problems following the guide then use IOS250 for installing anything in the guide. 250 does not get overwritten by a stub unlike 249.

You can install rev8 if you want. I was on rev7 for a long time and had no problems with it.

With a modchip. Or go with USB Loading which is 8x.
