Also, how did Logican know mine was GC2-D2C? Is there a way to check without opening my wii up?

If I can I want to avoid any soldering. I don't think I've ever soldered anything before.

This ones a little expensive but it's the one i'm looking at... ease of installation is more important to me than price.

looks good to me, but you might want to run it by a professional. Wait untill Spyman posts back.

Hi moosh, the d2pro9 v3 2.3/1.6 is by far our most popular chip with the least problems if installed correctly. We have a video guide on the website as well that goes step by step on installing the d2pro9. If the video is down again let us know and we will host it on some other video sites as well.
The chipset you have 'gc2-d2c' = D2C , the gc2 is not important as all chipsets have that prefix.
If you have any other questions do not hesistate to ask or PM me.

based on the serial it is D2C/D2C2/D2E in any case it will work
The d2c has been around since august 2007 and the serials for it are much lower in range. But most use Wii Drive Chip Database or wiitracker.nintendo-scene.com to check, though there are some inaccurate infromation on both sites.
