Help! Wii powered on yesterday won't anymore

I'll be the first to admit that I don't have an idea what's my problem.
I moved to China two months ago; I've been a bit bored so a friend modded my wii and mailed it to me.

Yesterday, I received the wii set it up in my apartment plugging it into my voltage converter on the 0 to 25 watt setting. A red led came on, which I thought was normal when I modded my xbox the leds changed color. After pushing the power button the led turned green and played.

After playing for 10 minutes my wii turned off for what seemed like no reason. I plugged the converter and my wii into a different power stripp and powered on again. It worked for another 10 minutes then stopped working completely.

I'm not sure exactly what went wrong. The power converter works with other devices, but not my wii. The wii's LEDs won't turn on if I just plug it directly into the power strip.

    Does anyone haver any suggestions?

it could be the fuse on your wii power adapter, you can try to change this, or you can try a new wii power adapter all together.

    Power Adapter

See I thought that may be the case too, but the Nintendo website says to reset the adapter by unplugging everything from the box, letting it rest, and then restarting

are there any other ways to reset the fuse before I ship another power adapter overseas?

    power adapter

I mean I have seen replacement attempts - SICKmods : Wii > Open*PSU - but it's hard to find tools to work with electronics here

if you could get the tools to open it and a multimeter you could check the fuse to know, but if it is hard to find tools then it might be better to just get another one and hope it will fix it. I am a bit tired so perhaps I am missing something obvious right now, I'll ponder it tonight.
