Do certain titles corrupt USB drives?

I need someone's advice on a small issue I'm having here. I did a google search and a wiihacks search for this issue and I couldn't find anything similar to the issue I'm having. My wii is 4.2u and my cios is rev12 (I tried updating to no avail for this issue), I also have a Drive Key mod chip.

Now for the issue itself. It seems that certain games, specifically Zelda and Super Paper Mario, keep causing a weird corruption on my usb drive to where it will no longer properly rip games. I'm ripping my own retail stuff here, so zero chance of bad isos or what not. The error itself causes any wii games I rip to just simply kick me back to the menu, but oddly enough, any games that were properly working on the usb STAY properly working, but any games ripped after either super paper mario or Zelda will not work! This is bizarre. So either those two games cause this, or I've got a bad drive that doesn't like specific games. I did buy it on the cheap from a Hong Kong vendor, so it wouldn't surprise me. After a fresh format using WBFS manager, it's ready to go again, but I'm worried that I'll rip a game that will cause this issue to arise and then I will have to reformat AGAIN and rerip AGAIN. Does anyone have some advice or knowledge of what this issue could be?

Well it is very unlikely that it is a game causing your issue. Sounds more like your drive. You should update your cIOS to rev 17. What happens when you tried to update your cIOS? ( Black Screen..Error?)
    Damn I suck!!!!

I was having issues with a specific title, Target Terror to be exact, and I read in another forum that downgrading to rev 12 fixed a problem they were having with House of the Dead 3, but I ended up formatting my drive anyways, so I'll probably go back up to 17 (or would 19 be a better choice?).

I wasn't having a problem updating, I was hoping the update would fix THIS issue.

Rev 17 for now is the best.

Also I have target terror and it runs fine for me on rev 17 with CFG Usb Loader. Not sure about the other game.
    Damn I suck!!!!

Thanks pal, I'm going to try to fill it as full as possible with only essential games until the problem happens again, then I'll try using another stick. At least I have this one working to some degree until I can get a real HD to fill.
