how to get rid of av interference when playing from USB HDD...

I play my backups from USB HDD through the tv input in my computer. Now I gave my parents my Wii (they have an old crt tv) and when I plug in the power supply for the USB HDD (Wii is already running on the tv) we get a constant buzzing noise and weird lines zigzagging randomly through the picture. As soon as I unplug the power of the HDD everything is back to normal.
I had the Wii running on that tv while I was still playing off discs. But now that I put everything on HDD I get this weird interference. Didn't have that running the Wii through my computer tv input, but haven't tried any other tv setups yet.
Anyone having the same or similar problem? Anyone know how to rectify this? Will I get this interference with all tv sets? I know lots of people play through USB HDD so was wondering if others experience problems like this.
    Any feedback welcome.

Yes i have the same problem too. I have two USB external HDD cases. One is a Vantec case and the other is A-Byte case. Both cases have there own power supply.
The Vantec case Works on any TV no interference but the A-byte case when i use that with my wii on MY 32" CRT JVC TV i will get the interference with lines but if i shut the power of to the case everything is fine. I can even hook up the a-byte case to my computer and it's fine no interference only on my TV.

I tried the a-byte hdd case on a smaller older 20" CRT Citizen TV and i didn't see any interference seems to be only on the JVC. Need to try it on other CRT TV's.

I had the same problem. Luckily I had 5 different enclosures to try out to narrow down the issue. It turns out four of the enclosures gave interference and one did not at all. The difference? The four enclosures used standard three-prong power cords. Meaning the power supply was inside and dosing everything with RF noise. The working enclosure had it's own external power supply. This means no interference at all.
