Do you have a twilight hack saved in the wii system memory? Do you at least have a patched wii menu with rescue system, via starfall v0.5?

Do you have an autoboot copy (or at least a normal copy) of Zelda TP?

How did you brick your wii? What system version is it?

Those are all questions that need to be answered if you want to fix your wii without savemii/modchip. But still, if you missed the first two questions, chances are you will need to get savemii or/and a modchip to save your Wii.

So far, there is only one mode of recovery I can recommend for you. Get a modchip installed and make an autoboot copy of Zelda TP, then autoboot the game and do the twilight hack, load the wad manager and uninstall the wad that bricked your system.

I think this can also be saved by savemii (I have no idea, but I hope so) but you will spend 30 dollars + shipping on something you will only use once and will probably take you months to get to your country (it is homemade and bushing and marcan have lots of orders and it may take them months to fill them all, including yours). So get a modchip installed, unbrick your wii, and you can keep the chip and play backups too!

Also, if you ever get around to unbricking your wii, make sure you download starfall v0.5 and install the rescue menu and skip disc diagnostic check options, so you can make your wii literally brickproof, and next time you won't even need an autoboot copy or a modchip to save your wii.

How to brick-proof your Wii in 8 easy steps:

1st) Get a modchip, if possible (not really necessary, unless you screw up really bad).

2nd) Downgrade or update your system menu to v3.2 (this will allow trucha signed games to load, and will allow the rescue menu patch to work). Although you might want to use Gecko OS to play the newer games that require updates if you don't want to remove updates via Starfall.

3rd) Copy a Twilight Hack save to your Wii system memory and never delete it from the system.

4th) Download Starfall v0.5 and patch your Wii system menu with the rescue menu and the skip disc check diagnostic option. You can also disable required updates for playing games too so you don't have to update to v3.3 or later to play a game.

5th) Keep a copy of Twilight Princess around for recovery purposes, make an autobootable dvd iso of the game if you have a modchip and don't want to patch the system menu with starfall.

    6th)
Also, you will need a gamecube controller for initiating the rescue menu (it requires you to press "Y" when starting up the wii).

7th) Get a SaveMii just incase nothing else works.

8th) Be careful with what files you install on your Wii and make sure it is safe before installing. However, if by some reason you brick your wii by installing a .wad or any other file that installs on the system memory (another system version region), run the rescue menu when booting up the bricked system, insert Zelda and it will autoplay. Now, since you have the twilight hack saved in the system memory, do the twilight hack to load the homebrew application you used to install the .wad or any other file, and search for an uninstall option or restore your original settings for the wii, and uninstall/restore it. As soon as it finishes uninstalling/restoring, reboot your Wii and make sure it is working properly.

I hope that helped. You don't really have to get a modchip or savemii to brick proof your wii, just follow the steps I mentioned before and you should be set!

You can't run backups without modchips, only way to run them is through ISO loader (through homebrew channel) and it doesn't work well.

I'll like help. I faced the same problem when i try to load one of my newer games. However, it only affects one cd. Otherwise, it's fine.

Has anyone faced this problem before? i got exactly the same error msg. Also, when i tried to use Gecko OS to run the game, the system hangs and requires a hard reboot.

Please check the error again, I think you are getting a disc read error not a file corrupt error. ...
