    Emulation Classic controller not working

I have this posted in the Newb question area... but I didn't get any answers or even responses... at all. Just maybe 24 views or so.

I will be locking the first post I made so that this one can be used here in a more appropriate area.

On the SNES, Genesis, NES, and VGBA, the classic controller isn't working on them... at all. Whether I plug it in before I start the emulator, or after I do, or after the ROM is loaded, the controller just wont respond. It is a Nintendo brand black classic controller. I also noticed that when it is connected, sometimes the Wii remote pointer on the emulator menus gets incredibly laggy... but if I use this controller in a Wii game, such as SSBBrawl, it works just fine...
There was a new logged selection of updates on the consoles for April 9, so I'll update them and see if they work tonight when I get off work at 5PM... but I don't know. Does anyone else have these problems, or know of a solution?

Some extra info... the Wii remotes controls work, but haven't tested the gamecube ones... although now that I think about it, I think a GC controller was plugged in at the time.
I am also unsure of whether I have IOS202 installed... would that have anything to do with it? The ROMs work however... just fine. I load them from forwarding channels on the Wii menu, from a USB 2.0 Western Digital 320GB My Passport Essentials hard drive.

I updated to the latest Emulators released early this month, and I tried loading up the games without a gamecube controller plugged in... and I got nothing...
So what am I doing wrong?

I found the problem. This is a non-OEM controller, a 3rd party one.
Normally, 3rd party companies are not allowed to use the Wii logo on the front of the controller. This one did. It's a fake replica from ebay, I found out because it is missing the Nintendo logo engraved onto the back. I'm going to attempt getting them removed from ebay, and get my money back to buy the new Pro controller coming out on the 20th this month. Of course... from an American state, 100% legit. I hate off brands.

Well... I just didn't want to give up... and I found yet another answer.
My controller works. Instead of loading the emulator via the Wii Menu through a forwarder, I went and tried it from the Homebrew Channel. It worked. Though on certain emulators, it was a little slow in response, it did work. For those who have not had the success of getting their classic controller to work, and if you are loading through a forwarder or a channel directly from the Wii Menu, try to load the emulator through the Homebrew Channel.

I am loading my Genesis emulator through the Homebrew Channel, but the emulator still doesn't recognize that a classic controller is hooked into the Wiimote. Am I doing something wrong? Does it matter whether I hook up the classic controller before or after I start the emulator?

I am using an off-brand classic controller I got from Meritline. The controller works controlling the cursor in the Wii Menu so I know it works.

I'm going to buy a Nintendo branded classic controller to see if it makes a difference, but any other insight would be helpful. Thanks.

Have you tried any other emulators? the genesis one is quite different than the ones for nes, snes, and gba.

I still couldn't get it to work with my controller that I bought from Meritline. It did work with the Nintendo branded classic controller.
