Exclamation From Bad to Worse to OMFG FORUM POST!

Started off with a Wii 4.2u. Got everything installed via -->http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...y-4-2-wii.html

I was able to use WadManager to successfully install FFIV:AY and Mega Man 9 wads. Life is good.

When it came time to start playing my games I've backed up, so I can put them away (hey i got unopened He-Man's. Don't judge me) they would always fail to load via NeoGamma. I tried all kinds of different settings to no avail. Always booted back to Wii Menu. Always gave me read error. I backed up Wii Sports Resort first btw. Burned it to a Memorex DVD-R 16x with burn speed set to 1x via ole trusty Nero.

SO, being the good forum person I am, I searched for my solution FIRST. I was directed to this page http://www.wiihacks.com/wiihacks-new...se-help-2.html

DL'd WiiScrubber and IOSPatcher. Found IOS55-64-v4633.wad and RVL-WiiSystemmenu-v385.wad with the assist in the tutorial. WadManager installed both.

Black screen. Life is no longer good.

BUT WAIT! I remembered that BootMii loads before Nintendo's OS and I can get to Homebrew Channel from there. Back to Homebrew Channel! Uninstalled the above Wad's and reinstalled backup Wad's.

    Reset.

    >.>
    <.<

Black screen. Now with NO CONTROLLER LINK @ Homebrew Channel screen.

    Please assist.

I believe a game cube controller still works if you have access to HBC as mentioned. You really ought to post in this section of wiihacks, though. Folks like mauifrog and other capable folks have the experience you seek...

Man, I don't think you could have came any closer to killing your wii. Lucky you for that boot2 bootmii.
Download and extract System Menu-NUS-v449.wad and IOS60-patched.zip sd:\wad
Download and extract cboot2_wadmanager_1.5_mod.zip and Priiloader_v0_3b.zip and 4.1u-hacks.zip to sd:\
Boot the wii, wadmanager loads- use ios249
    Install ios60patched
    then
    Install System menu 449
Reboot into system menu, load HBC- install priiloader
Hold reset and Reboot, click hacks, enable block disk and block online updates

If after SM install, wii reboots to black screen- download and extractCB2_BB_System-Settings-Replace_MOD.zip to sd:\
    Copy sd:\ntsc\settings.txt to sd:\
    Boot the wii, replace settings.txt

    P.S. you need a gc-controller.
Also, I did not read that thread, but what you did was not right- so don't do it again. You should not need to ever install a system menu again- or atleast not for a very long time.

Mauifrog, you are the shiz. Any chance you could throw me a link so I can get my backups to load and not screw up as bad as I just did?

I have no GC controller but I'm sure I can acquire one tomorrow.

Should I backup and format my SD card with your above method?

Would a NAND backup restore controller functionality?

I don't know about your backup issues, more details would be needed. I would suggest dumping the disks and using usb, but your issue could be a bad burn, bad media or bad ios, among other things.

Backing up and formatting your sd-card is also a good idea.

I am going to try a NAND backup right now. Copying to SD as I type now. Will post results for science!

EDIT: NAND backup restored EVERYTHING. I got controllers, dashboard, full access!

Thanks for all of your help!
