Problem with Mario Kart Wii backup on 4.2u (very descriptive question)

I modded my Wii a few days ago and 2 of the 4 backups I tried work. They are all good backups. The one that I am trying to get to work is Mario Kart Wii. First of all, I have enclosed a list of ios's that DOP-Mii churned out. I don't know if you need that or not to help me. I have system menu 4.2u and a custom ios of 249 v14 as well. Homebrew channel works great. I have geckoos. No More Heroes 2 works fine. Mario Kart Wii loads up, but freezes at random points in the menu screen or during the black screen while it loads the next screen. I have only ever gotten as far as the black screen before the race starts. Some people have luck with all games. I'm sure there is something simple that I can do to resolve this. I have burned the game several times. Does anyone have any ideas? It would help me out a lot!

its not ios problem so if your loading from disc it might be your media try using verbatim or taiyo yuden dvd-r..............or try to usb load the game just to check if its not the iso.....

    Alternate idea?

Thanks, I will try that. The iso as of before it was burned, is definitely good though. Do you think that the fact that only 2 of my 4 backup disks didn't work makes the bad media theory less likely though? Or does that not really matter?

Format a thumb drive, or hd, or sd card to wbfs and load the mario kart from wbfs. If the iso is good it should work, which would indicate a burn/media issue. If the problem persists, then the iso could be bad.

Yes, media that doesn't work could make the bad media theory likely.

I once bought a 50 pack of TDK blank media and had to toss out half of them. After a few of the discs wouldn't pass the verification, I then examined the discs. I couldn't believe that when I held up some of the discs in front of a light bulb, I could see what looked like a bunch of pin holes in the die. I felt like I had been taken advantage of (bent over), so I try to stay away from the lesser DVD blank media.

I have to buy verbatims. i work at an electronic store so I'll buy them soon. What else do you think could possibly be a reason though? Are there certain things you have to do to make certain games like Mario Kart work? That's what I thought at one point.

I still think it would help if you had all the IOSes installed. Could be just a simple case of not having one.

I couldn't get Dead Space Extraction to work.

Turns out I just needed to have like IOS54 or something installed.

I was also having a hard time running channels on the channel's menu. Installing another IOS file fixed that too.

According to the internets, I need IOS33 for Mario Kart Wii. I do have that IOS. Although, I'm not sure what the "fakesign disabled" on my DOP-Mii Report means in regard to most of my IOS's.

Mario Kart runs off of ios36. You should have this. Have you tried other media, or usb/sd loading?

I used memorex dvd-r. 2 of the 4 isos I tried worked. Mario Kart failed to work 3 times. It black screens on various loading parts and freezes at random parts as well. Are Verbatims better DVDs? Will a usb flash drive work better?
