dvdx wont install?
Im new to this so be gentle please. I have installed homebrew and bootmii and dvdxfrom the guides and all went well. Then i thought i would download mplayer, which in the guide says to download to rare file one is mplayer and the other is labelled dvdx, ive then put them in to the apps folder and placed to sd card in the wii. Mplayer has appeared on the title sceen and so has dvdx. When you go in to dvdx i do normal install and get erroe-2011 installing dvd stub ticket and error -2011 installing stub, what does this mean? and can i fix it? also mplayer doesnt seem to play dvd's is this connected.
The wierd thing was i thought i originally installed dvdx when i installed the homebrew channel and bootmii??
You already installed it, why are you doing it again? That's an old version, you don't need it.
I haven't actually used DVDx for anything yet, so I don't personally know your problem. Perhaps installing the old version interfered with the one you already have? Go back into the hackmii installer and try reinstalling it.
Also make sure that you have the latest version of MPlayer (don't know which you were using... just pick whichever sounds best for you).

Hi thanks for the reply ill give it a go, can i ask what you use to play dvd's on your wii if any.
I use a DVD player or a computer, cleverly bypassing the need to use the Wii at all! :P
I just never had any need for those programs.
Mplayer CE is good for playing divx, xvid, avi, and files like that. I too save the DVD's for the DVD player, so I don't wear out my Wii DVD drive.
DVD player = $25.00
Wii = $199.99
i get this to but if i use mplayer ce it dosnt work for me it says error mounting dvd
