    Can't backup Nand using Bootmii

I previously softmodded my Wii version 4.2u so that I can load games using USB GX Loader. The SD card remains in the Wii for this because it contains various files. I now want to back up the nand using Bootmii, but whenever I try to load Bootmii from the HomeBrew Channel, the Custom IOS Installer loads with that animated screen with loud rock music. My system will only allow me to use Bootmii as an IOS. So how do I load Bootmii so that I can do the backup with the SD card?

    Thanks.

really no need for a nand backup now since your already modded and probably can access priiloader and be able to use a recovery disc in the event of something going wrong.......if you just want the files just in case you want to recover if something was to go wrong pm me and ill give them to you with instructions on how to use them....and for it you will need a empty sd card and a dvd-r burnable disc...

That is not a very wise thing to say. It is a very good thing to backup the nand when you have a modded wii.
Especially if you cannot put bootmii in boot2 otherwise you can never recover from a brick.
You have cboot2 files on your SD card now. You need to put the bootmii files in the bootmii directory.
If you cannot find them send me a PM with your email and I will email you the necessary files.

Very wise of you to make a bootmii backup, everyone should do that!!!
If you think I helped you please click the little thanks button
Send me a PM if you have any questions regarding unbricking with infectus mod chip or post a message in here http://www.wiihacks.com/bricked-wii-...installed.html

don't know how many wii's you have modded but as a backup restorer bootmii as an ios is completly useless unless your using a recovery disc with the right files on your card...and restoring your nand using bootmii as an ios is not going to be possible. i wouldnt tell him nothing that would hurt him thats why i told him i would give hime the files and instructions so please don't critique what i have told him....and you can recover from a brick without a nand backup...please do your homework first

Who do you think I am, I recovered many low level bricks. I have a whole stack of mainboards at home which are unusable as people didnot care to make a nand backup.
Without a nand backup and you run into a low level brick you need a new mainboard. Simple as that.
If you are lucky enough to run into a simple brick then you can recover either with preloader if you have that or in another way.
But if you run into a stub as a lot of people do then you can smash your head if you did not make a bootmii backup.
I have recovered over 30 wiis with low level bricks so don't tell me to do my homework!

not trying to argue.......no need for the exclamation marks....now what im saying is he cant restore his nand when bootmii is installed as an ios maybe using a chip but i think thats a waste of money if thats the case. when you can recover from bricks using my methods which wont cost nothing but a disc.... i deal with full bricks dont need any chips and i get the job done seems to me this is just a clash of styles you have your way and i have mine....and the do your homework part was only refering to me saying he can recover from a full brick with the recovery disc and a few other files....if you want them i will be glad to upload them for you with instructions and you can see for yourself next time you have a full brick situation and you need to get to bootmii when the wii comes on with only a black screen and nothing else...so dont take what i was saying the wrong way im only trying to help people thats it thats all

If you want to help people dont tell them "NOT to make a nand backup" and that "it's useless".

    Thats just not true.

And erikie knows what he's talking about so I wouldn't argue with him.
    Damn I suck!!!!

seems to me no one is reading what i've been saying : if bootmii is installed as an ios you cant restore your nand his bootmii is installed as an ios so really whats the use of creating one..if it was boot 2 then it would be great to create a backup...... thats y when you look at any tutorial it says that its optional not important! i know what i'm talking about.... please judge after you do

    THIS.

even though you may not be able to safely restore a NAND with Bootmii IOS, it HAS been done in the past.
Having a backup is also good in case you need to use infectus; It mihgt help you recover someone elses wii with betwiin; It may become possible at a later date that your Bootmii IOS has more functionality.

Whatever the reasons, pure logically common sense says that any backup is better than no backup.

So, letsgetwii, please stop the arguing, no offence but id take erikie's advice on the subject over 99% of the other people posting here tbh. He knows his stuff, as you would know if you spent a few minutes reading the bricked wii section.
