Wii MotionPlus controller wont work in Homebrew

    Hi Everyone,

I am Running 4.2u softmodded. I have the homebrew channel installed. I have a WD 500GB USB 2.0 HDD that I keep my gamed on and I use USB Loader GX.

Everything has been working without any issues. Until I just got some motionplus controllers. These new controllers work just fine on the main Wii screen and while I am in Wii games (off or real discs, or off the HDD) The problem is the motionplus controller powers down as soon as I click on the homebrew channel. The same thing happens when I click on USB Loader GX.

The original controller still works, but the motionplus one goes off and it will not reconnect unless I back out of homebrew. If I want to run a rom off an emulator, I cannot get the motionplus controller to work. Even if I try to reconnect once the emulator is running.

The good news is that I am still functional with real Wii games, but it would be nice to be able to use all the controllers to navigate through homebrew and on all the apps. I want to set up all the controllers with motionplus, but for right now I need to keep one stock. I would hate to have to keep taking the motionplus on and off all the time.

Does anyone know of a fix? I have looked all over the place and searched posts extensively, but I have been unable to find any way to fix this. Sorry if I missed something. Any help is appreciated!

Have not heard of that before i can navigate the HBC fine with motionplus attached to the remotes.

Just reading some stuff did you sync the new remotes by using the red sync buttons, or just going pushing the home button on the already synced one and hitting the reconnect option.

Any idea on things to try? Should I try to uninstall HBS and re-install to see if that works? Other than that, I don't know what to do. I am pretty noobish. I am able to follow the step-by-step directions on some of the great tutorials on this message board, but I am too scared to randomly tinker for fear of bricking.

This is the standard way so they always remember to connect to your wii, the other way is temporary if using them on a different system and not wanting them to forget what system is the main one they use.

    # Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.
    # Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote you wish to sync up, and press the SYNC button just below the batteries. The Player LED will blink.
    # Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console and press the SYNC button on the inside of the compartment.
    # When the Player LED blinking stops, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 to 4).

OK, thanks! I probably should have read my manual before posting! I'll try this out and if it does not fix the problem than I'll try to reinstall homebrew for the heck of it to see if that helps. I'll reply to this post if I get this to work so that any people with the same problem in the future will know what works.
