Blue Screen of Death On Start Up

So I've been reading a few newbies posts. Led me to a few thoughts about an older "bricked" wii I have and possibly some can give me feedback as to their opinion on it.

Two years ago I uninstalled an IOS 60 patched (BAD IDEA I NOW KNOW) and the wii booted into Homebrew and I ignorantly shut it off.

Upon restart the drive flashed and you heard it go but nothing but a blue screen was projected on my screen (maybe a black screen but due to my polaroid TV it was blue? not quite sure). You also couldn't turn the console on with the wiimote (they wouldn't sync).

After reading a bluetooth module post most say that it is awkward for even a bricked wii not to turn on with the wiimotes unless the bluetooth module was dead.

This leads me to think that while I may have screwed my wii internally with uninstalling IOS60 patched, that maybe the reason it won't boot is the bluetooh module.

Give me your feedback, maybe I'm screwed, maybe there is some hope

IOS60 did not come out until March 25th 2009.

    Your bluetooth module is fine.

A 4.0/4.1 Wii without IOS60 will not work, not now or ever.

If the DVD slot flashes twice you can recover using bootmii/boot2 and cboot2.

If the Wii is sufficiently old - roughly Pre August 2008 you can use an infectus modchip to flash boot2 onto the Wii and recover using cboot2.

The Wii was an original...waited in line a few hours in Manhattan at the Nintendo store for it. As far as I remember it still has 3.2U on it.

At that point in time, I was not wise enough to put bootmii on it, but it does have priiloader.

With that being said, I'm sure not having bootmii limits my options quite a bit (as far as getting an infectus chip, I wouldn't be able to use it right since no bootmii is installed)?

Also, if it is on 4.0U and I'm wrong about the 3.2U (mod so many Wiis I honestly can't remember) would there no a way to re-install IOS60 patched without bootmii or infectus chip?

Infectus can write the relevant blocks to NAND to make bootmii installed without having to run the app. As I said Erikie has done this one dozens of Wiis and knows a lot about the procedure and it's costs. As your Wii is sufficiently old then this procedure will work. I'm not sure of the costs for infectus myself but it might be cheaper to get it fixed/replaced by Nintendo if it's just one Wii you are likely to ever fix. Typical Big N repair charge is $75. Seeing as you have a Wii already with 4.1 on it you might not think it's worth it, but a vunerable boot1 Wii is still desireable. Maybe someone with an Infectus would even buy it from you.

If you have Priiloader (reset button on starting Wii) then it would come up, if it doesn't then an update to System Menu has deleted it.

I found the infectus chip in Canada on a website around $55 so I think I'm going to buy it and play around with it to gain the experience needed to help others with infectus in the future. I already locally mod wii's for a small fee so I should be able to do this with ease.

Selling it is tempting, but I think for $55 it's worth having an original with none of Nintendo's pointless updates on it incase my 4.1U one craps out...thanks for the direction.

Check with Erikie to make sure you are getting the right type of Infectus, I'm sure he won't mind.
