    predicible crashes

Hello i have a wii with 4.2u menu. I have soft-modded it and things seem to be working only one issue.

When i run mplayer ce .76 it runs correctly, but when i leave it to go back to the system menu it causes a crash black screen with debug info.

After looking around it seems like the course of action is to install a newer cios, but i have no idea where to look or which one to install. Help would be appreciated

Google "CIOS rev16 released" for cios release threads + dl links if you want newer cios.
There is no "virginizing" your Wii, you have CIOScorp, which is the result of somebody thinking it was a smart idea to overwrite every IOS on a Wii with an ancient IOS with no safety net. Reasons like this are why Twiizers never lets their installer run under a fakesigned IOS. You could try to virginize, but you will always have remnants of CIOScorp on your Wii, and you can never be sure everything worked, since your virginization was run under CIOScorp.
If your Wii is working, great, softmodding is one of the most risky things you can do to your Wii and mplayer CE is not worth it.

Are you using a forwarder or loading through the HBC?
Crashing on exit if you're using a forwarder is a known issue with 0.76 - no doubt it'll be fixed in the next release. Mine crashes on exit unless I load it directly from the HBC.
