    Preloader HELP

    Hi all,

Appreciate I'm a "noob" and might sound a little clueless. Basically I've installed preloader and soft modded my Wii. The only issue I'm having is when I turn my Wii on it comes directly to the Preloader Menu instead of booting up as normal. I've done a google search and no one seems to have the same problem, maybe I'm not using the right keywords. Anyhow, in Preloader system menu settings Autoboot and Return to are set to System menu which is what a guide told me to do.

    Any suggestions? I'm using Preloader 0.30 - Prilloader v0.2 (r30)

Yup you need to downgrade or update to a different revision, as the one you're on is bugged to cause this behavior. There are links to newer revisions going around, but as I've stuck with v0.1 I'll give you a link to that because it's the only other official release: Priiloader_v0_1.zip

    Hi,

Thanks very much for your prompt reply I've downloaded the version of preloader that you've reccomended. How do I install it onto my Wii. Do I add the whole folder to the apps folder on my SD Card, only the Priiloader_v0_1.dol or just the contents and not the actual folder?

Sorry to be a pain I'd just rather be safe than sorry,

    Thanks

Add the folder and rename the dol file to boot.dol, run the installer and press + to install. It will overwrite and replace your current version.

Brilliant thanks, that's got rid of it initially. Now I get a message saying Couldn't find "hacks.ini" either of FAT or on NAND

Yep you need to place the hacks.ini for your sysmenu/region at the root of your sd card. Someone posted a list with downloads to all of them in the submit tutorials forum. Or google priiloader hacks to bring up the official site.

    Thumbs up

All sorted. Thanks Ithian your a life saver. Tried about 3 step by step guides before I came across yours. The others were over complicated and confusing for a noob like myself and needless to say didn't work. Yours worked for me 1st time round (apart from the niggle posted above). Absolute legend, patient with even the noobiest of noobs like myself, keep up the good work fella.

This has taken me the best part of 12 hours becuase of all the reading around solving problems that the other "guides" made for me. So now I'm leaving you with a big on my face.

Thanks again for your help, it really is GREATLY appreciated!
