Is there a way to disable wii disc channel updates?

OK, I am wondering if it is possible to disable Wii Update Checks from the disc channel.

I do not mind launching games from Gecko or backup launchers but I am just worried if one of my family members or a friend unkowningly clicks start on the update proccess and updates the latest firmware, removing homebrew, backup launchers, and adding the new boot2 and maybe possibly bricking the Wii in the process.

Is there any kind of software or mods avaliable to disable Wii Update Checks from the disc channel?

    Thanks in Advance!

Yes wiiur removes the update request from burned discs. Get it here: Wii Update Remover 1.0 - MaxConsole Forums

Just drag iso file over it and press enter twice.

Oops sorry you meant original discs.

DW Everyone, I found a way to disable Disc Channel updates:)

When I Installed Priiloader, I saw and enabled the option "Block Disc Channel Updates" and now disc updates are blocked every time I insert a Wii Disc with a update on it.

    Thanks for your replies everyone!

Follow dogeggs guide to go to 4.1, and install priiloader to block updates. Also don't hijack someone else's thread. Make your own.

Back on topic, as much as Priiloader won't let you erase the disc channel (although it lets you block online/disc updates, as has already been pointed out), it will allow you to move it. You could just move it to the last page on the Wii Menu. I don't think anyone's gonna be looking for it there.
