How to install the homebrew channel

Hey everyone...I am fairly new to the modding scene. I have been reading everything I can on installing the Zelda exploit, but have hit a wall.

I searched through the first few pages on the forums, but I didn't find anything

Do you actually need a copy of Zelda to install the exploit...or can you just use the files

    Thanks in advance!

you can copy the exploit save filke from the sd card to the wii but cannot use it without a copy of the zelda game, As you have to run the game a talk to someone to crash the wii

Go rent Twilight Princess and/or dump it if you have a compatible LG drive. Once you get that far, let us know and we'll help guide you through it. Believe me, it's very easy once you get the hang of it, but when you're first starting out, everything's difficult.

If you have a mod chip just download the Homebrew Channel installer ISO. It is far easier to install that way and you wont need a Zelda disc.

If you dont have a mod chip I would do as Whacker suggested and rent it and use the Twilight hack to install the Homebrew Channel. Once you have the Homebrew channel installed you wont need the Zelda disc anymore. Without a mod chip dumping the game would be somewhat pointless though.

Why does a LG drive do and why would you use it for the Wii

They are used for dumping the games to make the ISO backup images. I believe there are only like 4 or 5 models that can read a Wii original disc.
