    Us Bootmii won"t launch

    Ok, Thanks for your help in advance. I am a first timer to this and stumbled upon the complete guide for hacking wii 4.2. I sucessfully got the first step where I now have the homebrew channel. Bootme was installed as an ios.
    I moved to the next step where you have to uninstall ios249 stub. I formatted my sd card with fat32 and proceeded to download the files to remove the stub ios. I unzipped the files and saved them to the sd card and placed in the wii. When I go to the homebrew channel and hit the (home) button the wiimote I click on launch bootmii, at this point the screen goes black and the cd slot on the wii flashed blue about every 2 seconds but nothing happens. I let it sit this way for about 30 minutes thinking wadmanager might start anytime, but nothing. Can someone please inform me of what I might have done wrong.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

    You need to have the bootmii folder that was created when you first installed it on root of the sd card for bootmii to launch. It must be named "bootmii" and also needs to have these 3 files - armboot.bin, bootmii.ini, and ppcboot.elf.

    So your saying from the original file I need to delete everything but the bootme files and keep them stored on the disk. How do I do that if I have to format the sd card? I know sounds like a dumb question but I may very well be.

    I know the guide to softmod 4.2 says create a file in the apps of th sd card, but I really am confused on what it is saying exactly.

    Woah no, no. I never said to delete anything. Just make sure the folder is on there, you can have anything else on there that you need for whichever step you're on. Format whenever the guide tells you to, then place files back on from your pc.

    PART C: The installation of our beloved cios38rev14

    Now that we deleted the stupid stub, the place is free so thet we can isntall cios!

    C1)NOW GET THIS PACK or THIS PACK 2

    C2)Format the card with FAT32, download the file above and place the contents of the "Place to SD 2" folder in the SD card. It should only contain the included files:
    root:\ios38-64-v3610.wad
    root:\bootmii\
    root:\startup.elf
    root:\boot.dol
    root:\00000001\ <-(if available)

    C3)Place the SD card in the wii, start HBC and press home ar the main HBC screen. (If your wii boots to Bootmii, just go to C5)

    C4)Select bootmii and wait.

    C5)cios38rev14 installer should run and give you some options.

    C6)At the beginning you should see ios249 highlighted. Keep pressing left on the wii pad until you see "Do not reload IOS" at the ios select screen, press A. (for some reason that neither I nor the other follows here seem to understand, this does not work for everyone. If this fails, try again using 249, 250, 222, 223, 36, 37... and others. Switching to one of these may work for you. be sure to restart your wii after each attempt)

    `````This is where I am, The files on the sd card have the bootmii you were referring to. But once I click on launch bootmii from the HBC the screen goes black and the wadmanager never starts.
    Go back and repeat the installation of bootmii and the HBC from part A again, it's safe to do. It could've just been a bad install. Make sure you use the files from the original pack.
    Ok I will do that, I actually contemplated on doing that anyways. How is the best way to delete the HBC from my wii without getting into trouble?
    Just run the installer again. It will overwrite the current install.
