Unhappy USB Device not working... Please help

Hi there, Im very new to this hacking of the wii, and this site has been a great help! Im currently running on 4.2e and used ShadowSonics 4.2 Guide to get homebrew and a few apps on it. The trouble is, no USB loaders recognize my USB device. All the loaders just say "Please plug in USB device" Or something along those lines. Its marked as "Works" on the compatibility list (WD My passport essential 160 GB). I formatted the drive in WBFS and added a Wii Sports backup. Can someone please tell me what I've done wrong or how to fix it. Much appreciated .

Are you sure you've got it in the outermost port of the wii?

I'm not sure if this will work, but I've been seeing enough of posts about it that I'll suggest. If you've formatted the whole drive wbfs try placing a small FAT partition on there and see if the loader will pick it up. Sometimes people have had problems with a single partition wbfs drive.

I have 3 partitions on the drive, a 100gb NTFS a 25 gb WBFS and a 25 gb FAT32. Also, the light on the Hard Drive lights up, so it is connected to the wii.

WBFS must always be primary and active for it to work.

OK I might just revert back to uLoader and burn disks again, or buy a new HDD. Discs probably cheaper, thanks all for help.
