    issues with homebrew

i softmoded my updated 4.2u wii and got the homebrew stuff up and working but have not had luck with playing backups. i tried a bunch of stuff and burned a bunch of disks and still can only run wii play and ultimate boardgames something or other. anyway...i ran this tutorial (Get a cIOS on 4.2 Wii) and found no difference except that when i placed my backup homebrew apps back on the reformatted sd card the homebrew channel showed nothing. i tried and retried different things but couldn't get anything to come up on the homebrew channel. at this point i decided to reload the channel from the sd card (with the proper software found in the messie 4.2u tutorial) but when i tried to launch from the sd card i got a prompt saying "the device inserted in the sd slot could not be used". did i mess up my sd card in some way? is it the card or could it have something to do with running the "Get a cIOS on 4.2 Wii" tutorial?

    please help!

    Brand new

Hey, im sorry but im brand new to this and just bought a wii for my girlfriends kids, i want to burn some games, im a pirate, but this is the 1st time im doing wii games, im thinking that since i just bought it brand new its the newest version 4.2? also i downloaded, brick blocker & backup patcher with ISO loader, it tells me i need to have the original zelda game to make a homebrew stuff, is that true? I just want to make sure to prevent anything from happening to there wii, they would be devastated. TY
