    NO system settings menu

I soft modded a wii, it wouldnt boot backups so i tried something and screwed it up, I still had preloader though, I manually installed a 4.1 menu wad file, everything came back but when i go to the system settings menu it takes me to an opera browser page and says a file is needed?? its still under warranty, could i return this wii, or is there any way to fix it??

You probably installed the wrong region System Menu which was very silly.

Try again, this time actually pick the proper one for the Wii you are using.

yes i think i did install the 450 instead on the 449 file which means i installed the euro one, but it wont let me install the 449 file, any other ideas or hep please

I can still boot most wii programs like wad manager, etc... by using a set of files on my sd card thats supposed to be the hackmii installer but i just switch out the boot.dol and boot through the sd channels page, if i try to run the hackmii installer it says there is no vulnerable ios on this system and i cant continue, when i try to install the proper region file it says error-1035 and wont install
so i can still boot many programs but am lost on what to do

Thanks for any help this is a friends wii not even mine

The problem you have caused may go deeper than just the System Menu, you may have deleted cIOS and HBC as well. Anyway the index should help you.
