    Ca Trucha Bug

I know it's probably been asked and explained before but can somebody give me a little more detail on what this Trucha Bug restorer is exactly and why would you want to restore a bug? Or maybe direct me to somewhere with an explanation. Sorry if I'm in the wrong area but I did do a search and I'm a little short on time to read through all the posts brought up. Thanx for your help.

The trucha bug was found in the original nintendo ios code, which would allow unsigned code to be executed. This was patched by nintendo to try to prevent piracy. The trucha bug restorer restores the trucha bug enabling you to prefore opperations that would otherwise be forbiden, like install a cios.

It is not mandatory, you could use cboot2 to install your cios if you have bootmii installed.

Ok well that explains it. And thank you. So now my question is how do I know if I'm using cboot2. I know I have BootMii but can't remember if I ever did anything with it. Sorry if I'm asking dummy questions but this stuff takes me 2 weeks to half figure out what it probaly takes you 30 seconds.

    There are two guides below.
The 3.1-4.1 guide uses the trucha bug.
    The 4.2 guide uses cboot2.

    You can review those.
