Ok, so I've been so impressed with how easy it has been to soft mod the wii and get the backup launchers going. It's fantastic. I borrowed my friends copy of SSBB and ripped it to my external hard drive, and it boots fine. However, when I first tried it, and played the adventure mode (Subspace Emmisionary I think it's called..), after the first battle, the Wii crashed with an error message, asking me to remove the game disc and reset the Wii. That's fine, time for some googling.
The only suggested solution was to try Hermes 222/223 IOS, because Waninoko's 249 doesn't like dual layer discs, so I gave them a go, and configured USB Loader GX to use 222 (tried 223 as well) with SSBB. In this case, there was no error message, the screen simply remained black after the match finished. I did some more searching around and found a couple of people with the problem, but no real solution.
Just to clarify, it's the PAL version of SSBB, I am in Australia so I have a PAL console as well. I've tried a number of different bootloaders such as 'SD USB Loader' and 'uLoader', and the problem remains.
