Are these steps to get USB Loader GX when using modchip correct?

I'm just wondering if someone could confirm if my understanding is more or less correct ...

I have a Wii with a modchip in it (Wasabi DX) and I would like to install the USB Loader GX. So I'm assuming I need to first install the Homebrew Channel (I believe there's a download made specifically for a modchipped Wii, so basically I run the install straight from the DVD after I burn it). Then I need to install a custom IOS (not sure which one yet). I believe that I run the install for this custom IOS from the homebrew channel after I put the correct files on my SD card. Finally after the correct cIOS is installed I install the USB Loader GX (again after putting the installation files on my SD card). Then I can run the USB Loader GX on my Wii.

Am I missing anything? Obviously I need to find out exactly which cIOS is required by USB Loader GX ... anyone know?

    Thanks,
    Harry

A modchip has nothing to do with softmodding, the steps and files are exactly the same wether you have one or not.

Install HBC as per one of the wonderful guides on here dependant on what firmware you are on and then get the usb loader GX file and run it through HBC, it's a breeze.

IOS's are the way the wii runs, different games require you to have certain ones installed but thats another story for another day, get homebrew running first and if a certain game wont work then search for what IOS it requires.

So having a modchip won't allow me to skip any steps in those guides? I guess that's good and bad ... it's good cause that makes things less confusing, but it's bad, cause that means there's more stuff for me to do

    Thanks,

Using a modchip to load a homebrew channel DVD is a very very old method.

If you want to softmod take no shortcuts, you could cause untold problems if you do.
Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.
