What are you dumping onto? I had really slow speeds with a thumb drive, got another one, and saw a 600% speed increase. They would start off fast, then dwindle down and die the more I ripped as the drive heated up. I use a 16GB Kingston thumb drive to transfer them.

Could be the state of the game disc. I noticed that some of mine went really really slow.

Never backed up a backup. I would buy another thumb drive and see what speeds you get on it. I took about 4 back to the store before I found a brand with quick speeds. If you're not impressed with the difference you won't be out any money if you keep your receipt. Playing dumb works miracles.

well i do run all me backup games in gx from my 320gb iomega drive, which i still get the 2.0mb/s , so it could be the discs that have reduced the rate, gonna give an original game a try, see if it speeds up

Good to know. I've been wondering how backing up a backup would go. Never had to do it.
