How do you manually update usbloader without WIFI?

    Hi,

I softmodded my friends wii a few weeks ago, and he wants to update to rev815 of usbLoader, as that is the only difference between his wii and mine, and he can not play Mario Brothers.

He does not have internet connection on his wii and lives a fair way away from me so I can not update it for him.

I have looked around but can not find any basic instructions on how to update his usb loader and channel via manual methods. Can anyone help?

    Cheers
    Dan

If you replace the dol file it will still say same rev number. To keep up with what revision you are on just change rev.txt to show what number you have just downloaded.

I replaced the dol on my SD card and when I start up USB loader from the channel it is not the latest rev. I get no sound from the menu etc and it still does not load the latest mario brothers.

    Any ideas?

Ok So If I open up homebrew channel it still says "rev815" when I load it it loads up the new version, but for some reason the channel seems to load the old version?

Any thoughts. Do I need to install the new wad?

Every time a new revision comes out you would have to install a new wad for the channel if it is not updating. That is why it is easier to use a forward channel because all you have to do is go into apps folder and replace boot.dol with new one.

    Forwarders (USB Loader GX)
