    Ca USB Loader GX dump

    Oh the humanity!

While doing some minor drywalling in my living room today I accidently bumped into the table the USB drive was sitting on. It was running. The Wii was in Standby mode. The drive won't start up anymore. I've decided it's garbage. While waiting for my new one I have decided to use the one I started with. A 40GB WD. I hooked it all up. Formatted, installd game... went to load USB loader GX.

Nothing. Then it suffered a dump. And crashed. Any chance I could have damaged my USB port? From what I understand the USB port is powered in standby mode. I'm worried here. Without my USB loader I have few games to play. Any ideas on how to test the port? Or maybe I am overlooking something? I used Homebrew Wad manager and uninstalled and reinstaled the USB loader channel. Still does the same thing. :|

Well I thought I would add an update to see if anyone gets an idea here. I'm almost desperate enough to go sell my Wii and get another used one if I can't get my HDD online.

I tried formatting the 40GB HDD into 2 partitions and made one for the ISOs and one FAT32. I put roms for my SNES emulator on the FAT32 partition and the system still wouldn't see the HDD.

On the other hand I formatted an 8GB thumb drive to fat32 and copied the roms over and stuck the thumb drive into the USB port and loaded roms from it fine.

Think it might be my HDD enclosure? Seems odd it won't even see the HDD in SNES9X but it will see a thumbdrive.... I also wanted to add that the enclosure works under Windows7 fine. Hmmm....

I'm shooting for anything here folks. Any ideas appreciated.
